PBS online beats out ABC, CBS, and Fox

(WGBH) PBS ranks second among broadcast networks online, coming out ahead of ABC, CBS, and Fox, and only one percentage point behind leader NBC, according to recent statistics from Hitwise. The stats, published in a 11/20 article in Media Life, says that broadcasters like PBS who hold the largest online audiences have taken extra steps to attract them, including posting more content online and making that content easier to get to.

WGBH-produced websites for NOVA, FRONTLINE, ARTHUR, and other programs attract millions of visitors every month to pbs.org, one of the most-visited dot-orgs in the world. “WGBH is the top contributor to pbs.org,” says Brigid Sullivan, VP for Children's, Educational and Interactive Programming, Media Access, “so it's gratifying to see our excellent work—whether children's programs or content for adults—contribute to PBS's overall success online.”
